Rick Braddy—Founder, CEO and CTO

Rick Braddy is an innovator, leader and visionary with more than 30 years’ of technology experience and a proven track record of taking on business and technology challenges and making high-stakes decisions. Rick is a serial entrepreneur and former Chief Technology Officer of the CITRIX Systems XenApp and XenDesktop group and former Group Architect with BMC Software. During his 6 years with CITRIX, Rick led the product management, architecture, business and technology strategy teams that helped the company grow from a $425 million, single-product company into a leading, diversified global enterprise software company with more than $1 billion in annual revenues. Rick is also a United States Air Force veteran, with military experience in top-secret cryptographic voice and data systems at NORAD / Cheyenne Mountain Complex. Rick is responsible for SoftNAS business and technology strategy and R&D.

Michael Goodwin—President, COO and CFO

exec-goodwin Michael Goodwin spent the first 10 years of his professional career with Texas Commerce Bank, Accenture and as a director with Continental Airlines where he represented the airline in its e-commerce aviation initiative; led strategy development and implementation of the airline’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) supply chain initiative; and financially directed the aircraft operations divisions. Michael left Continental Airlines in order to co-found Winrock HR, an HR outsourcing company where he served as CFO/COO. Michael has advised numerous start-ups and early stage companies, mostly in software and services on management, strategy, finance and growth issues and initiatives. Nonprofit board experience includes co-founding the Technology Entrepreneurs Exchange, founding the Michigan Private Equity Partnership and serving as a founding board member of the Houston Toolbank. Michael has an MBA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he was a William Davidson Fellow. He graduated with special honors with degrees in history and economics from The University of Texas at Austin where he was in the Honors Program and a Normandy Scholar. Michael is responsible for SoftNAS operations, finances, sales and marketing.

Jeff Russo—Sr. VP, Products

Jeff Russo HeadshotAs Senior Vice President of Products, Jeff is responsible for leading the overall strategy, operations and agile execution for the SoftNAS Products group to ensure timely, high quality product releases, providing a great customer experience. With nearly three decades’ experience in development and management, Jeff has expertise in building and delivering high quality products that exceed corporate goals. During his tenure at Citrix Systems. Jeff helped the company grow from a $50M to $3B technology company and held executive management positions ranging from corporate vice president of Operations and chief of staff to multiple vice president of product development roles. Most recently, Jeff served as vice president of Product Development at Citrix where he led multiple groups providing development services for all products including security, globalization, licensing and solution test services as well as centralizing and managing common development tools. Russo has held product development management roles with Precision Response, IBM and Encore Computer Corporation. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida.  

Adam Marano—VP, Product Management and Advanced R&D

Adam MaranoAs Vice President of Product Management and Advanced R&D, Adam is responsible for managing and communicating the SoftNAS strategic solution and product roadmap, managing the Advanced Products team and collaborating with the marketing team on go-to-market activities. With three decades’ experience as a developer and technology business leader, Adam has developed a passion for tackling complex problems and breaking them down in ways that can be effectively communicated various audiences. During his 18 year tenure at Citrix Systems, Adam oversaw the release of multiple products including multiple MetaFrame (now XenDesktop), Password Manager and Citrix Access Gateway releases. Adam has developed worldwide partner alliances with leading businesses including Samsung, HTC, Sprint and Verizon. While at Citrix, Adam identified potential M&A recommendations and developed patents to expand the portfolio. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University, and an Associate Certificate in Computer Science Management from CMU/SEI, delivered via Florida Atlantic University.

Michael Richtberg—VP, Business Development

As Vice President of Business Development, Michael Richtberg leads business development to enable new market segment expansion for SoftNAS. A 30 year veteran in IT transformation, Michael has been involved in leading business initiatives via leadership roles in technology strategy, marketing and product management with brand leaders like Oracle (NYSE: ORCL), Dell, Citrix Systems, Inc., (NASDAQ: CTXS), NCR (NYSE: NCR) and start-ups in the disruptive virtual storage and hyper-converged space via GreenBytes and Pivot3. As an early employee of Citrix (#207), he cultivated new product offerings and led acquisition initiatives aiding the company’s multi-billion dollar worldwide growth as a software infrastructure leader. Formerly with Dell’s Best Value Solutions team, Michael defined and executed a strategy for an end to end offering resulting in one of the largest desktop virtualization mergers. The acquisition of Wyse by Dell transformed and diversified end user computing solutions into a multi-billion dollar revenue stream. Michael also introduced disruptive products at GreenBytes which led to its acquisition by Oracle. Michael formerly developed product strategy for the hyper-converged appliance company Pivot3. In his role at SoftNAS, Michael helps enterprise businesses who struggle to close the gap formed by disparate islands of legacy data that are inaccessible without costly hardware investments. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, where he graduated with honors.

Bryon Thomas—VP, Marketing

Bryon Thomas

As Vice President of Marketing, Bryon brings more than 20 years’ of experience in technology, sales and marketing. Prior to joining SoftNAS, he spent 12 years with Citrix Systems in various executive roles, most recently leading the Worldwide Services Marketing team that was responsible for $1.1b in revenue and included product marketing, public relations, analyst relations, events marketing, and demand generation. In his tenure at Citrix, Bryon led the team that developed the Premier Support business, the largest and fastest-growing service offering in the Services division, accomplishing this within 6 quarters. Bryon has managed nearly 20 product releases, which have been recognized multiple times with “leader” ratings by Gartner, Inc. Prior to joining Citrix, Bryon, held a variety of executive roles with Redback Networks (acquired by Ericsson) and Alcatel-Lucent in the Caribbean and Latin America region, including Director of Technical Marketing for next-generation network solutions for service provider customers, including Voice over IP, converged voice and data networks, programmable switches and Web data centers. In his strategic planning role, Bryon created strategic plans representing 100% annual growth and $1b in revenue in the Caribbean and Latin America region. Bryon also worked in sales and marketing roles for Impsat and Americatel, two Latin American telecommunications service providers. Bryon earned a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Thunderbird and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature from Colorado State University.

Jat Treadwell—Director, Support

Jat TreadwellAs Director of Support, Jat is responsible for delivering industry leading customer support to a global customer base. He brings diversified experience in software engineering, testing and project management. He has led teams that have delivered products recognized in PC Magazine with the Editor’s Choice Award. During his tenure at PIVOT3, Jat handled customer service, support engineering and was responsible for the design and deployment of technical solutions throughout the sales cycle. Jat has led international teams, handled project planning and resource allocation, feature definition and performed software builds for Iomega Corporation, which was focused on consumer-based software and storage products. Jat’s expertise spans multiple aspects of project management including collaborating with global teams improving customer satisfaction, product design, profitability, and localization for worldwide product releases. Jat holds a master’s degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Stephen F. Austin State University.
